The most spectacular Supermoon since 1948 is in the sky tonight. I encourage everyone to see it for themselves, as it appears 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than a normal full moon. The next time a full moon is this close to Earth will be November 2034. I took this image handheld with my Nikon and 200mm lens as the Supermoon rose last night at 10:44 pm.
Super handheld image, Danny, fav. Here in West Sussex (England) it is grey and cloudy now (1pm) - hope it clears tonight. I might not be around in 2034! LOL!
Excellent. No super moon here, it was far too cloudy. Interesting to see the different positions of the craters between the Northern and the southern hemispheres.
