dragonfly

I hesitated to put this up as there seemed to be a flood of dragonflies on the 365 site this week, but as my focus for my week is macro, I figured I'd risk it...
Nice detail on the veining of the wings

There cannot be too many macro shots! This is beautiful, Patty, I love the red color and the sunlight on him. You've captured great details of the wings!

Your dragonfly looks fantastic! I love the dark background and the light. The orange shadow is marvellous :)
And you are right - dragonfly seems to be the weekly theme here rather than temptations :D But my dilemma is, that all things in nature arrive so late to us, that our cherry blossoms and first spring signs are not exiting to anyone but us here. I'm sure I'll get a dragonfly shot in one month, not much sooner, but it should not stop us shooting those fascinating things right!

Although not really a macro image, it really is a great closeup picture. The color, lighting, and dark background all really work well together.
And...dragonfiles are so cool looking we can't have too many pics of them, IMO.

Thank you all for your comments and thoughts on the dragonfly. I just had visions of people rolling their eyes when I posted "yet another dragonfly" to the site. We do tend to trend in similar fashion, on the site. I suspect it's because we are all seeing the same things, just in our own environments, ie: spring flowers, fall leaves, etc.

Truthfully, I love photographing dragonflies and do, any chance I get. They are remarkable little creatures.
