"All of the sudden she disappears
Just yesterday she was here
Somebody tell me if I am sleeping"
- Counting Crows
Inspired by the rather insipid movie, Insidious, which I saw over the weekend. There was a scene with an out-of-body experience that made me want to try to capture that same feel myself. Since I don't believe in that sort of mumbo jumbo in real life this has instead become something more, something about feeling separated from yourself and leaving parts of yourself behind.
I love this! I love creating or just seeing these types of photos. they remind me of Duane Michals, if you don't know him, look him up (: But this one is great! Amazing job!
@lacedxxoo Thanks! I tend to not get too personal on this site but I gave a little more info in my description. Just enough to tease you to figure out what I'm really trying to say.
@peterauliciems I know, I'm on fire lately! Unfortunately it also happens to be time consuming to both track down or set up interesting shots and then edit them. I might have to cut back soon so I can get other things done, like cooking dinner for my poor husband!
@angelwilliam Thanks! This was my first try with something like this and I'm more or less happy with the results. Also, thank you for letting me know about such an interesting photographer. I did have to look him up and I love what I see!
@maggie2 Thanks! I had no idea before yesterday either but found some tutorials and more or less followed them. I definitely learn by doing so sometimes I'll throw myself into an idea without a clear idea of how I'll do it. With enough messing around in Photoshop I can usually figure something out.
I thought I commented on this photo, I even fave'd this, hahaha, well , the photo to me is brilliant, and with the caption, even more meaningful. Well done.
this is very creepy-cool. i did a similar shoot a few years ago of myself holding my then-boyfriend's head on a plate in one hand and a butcher knife in the other - but it didn't turn out nearly as awesome as this!
