I'm happy to have a nice story for today. On my way home yesterday I saw a sign that they were doing a blessing of the pets today at a nearby church, so Amelia, my mom and I went today to check it out. It was very sweet - they held it in a room in the church with a little altar with Noah's Ark on it. There were about a dozen dogs and one turtle there. It was a nice little event, and on the way out all the pets got a goodie bag from a local pet store. Amelia had a great day meeting a lot of new dogs and people.
A church in one of our little towns is going to have a service tomorrow to Bless the Animals and all the attendees are encouraged to bring a pet. This was the first time I had ever heard of this -- and now I read about it from your part of the country, as well.
