Went into London this morning with Vicki and the kids to go to the Natural History Museum. I'd forgotten (or maybe I never really knew!!) what a great building it is, and I remember the dinosaurs being much bigger! Thought I was still impressed with the Blue Whale! We went to get ice cream from Ossie (he's got a permanent ice cream van outside Exhibition Road entrance to the tube...) I haven't seen him in about 5 years and he almost fell out his van window when he saw me with 3 kids in tow!! Great day had by all - the eating plan has gone out of the window - but plan to go and run it off now!
Meant to try and catch up on comments yesterday but the server was so slow I gave up - bit busy again tonight but will try tomorrow!
EDIT: I took over 200 shots inside the building from all different angles and locations...but this one is definitley the best vantage point to capture it's height, beauty and depth. I also remembered @leoadrian had taken a shot that i fav'd back a few months ago - checked it out after posting - seems his image left a lasting impression! http://365project.org/leoadrian/365/2011-06-15 thanks for the inspiration Leo!
Another cool one. How do you take your 3 images so quickly before any of the people in your shots move?! I always end up getting ghosts...(and I'm not THAT slow!).
You have brought a new dimension to one of my favourite places. When dad said we had a day in London and where was my choice, it was either here or the science museum. So many happy memories. It is a wonderful building in itself as you say....from this angle you have given it so much perpsective. Strange how the dinosaurs look smaller as we get older!! Fancy the ice cream man remembering you.....Sorry I missed the meet up, looks like you guys had a great time.
A top notch picture, and it really is stunning as many people before me have already said. It reminds me a little of Hogwarts. I keep expecting the staircases to shift. :)
Wow this is amazing, I remember going here as a child but never have I seen it like this, you have captured this amazingly and I love your processing. Congratulations of the PP appearance, you have inspired me to go again the The Natural History Museum ha ha xx
fantastic... funny because was only talking to a colleague on friday who has never been and me and another colleague both said we're sure the dinosaurs were bigger years ago haha
i saw this on the PP page before i looked at your images and wondered if it was a 'juliette HDR special' ...lol...i was not disappointed...superb POV and lighting . fantastic juliette
Blimey Juliette!! I saw this on the sign in page and sought it out on PP - should have known it was yours!! LOL about the ice cream man! I'm being hopeless in Northumbria despite lots of subject matter and I can't see on Nigel's netbook to do any processing either but I keep thinking 'Juliette would take a great shot of this!!'
@judithg LOL thanks Judith! Northumberland is amazing for photos...hope you are going to Banburgh Castle? Best shot from the sand dunes on the beach!! I'm jealous, i love it up there, hope you're having fun!
