Had an awesome day. Very early start to get to the Olympic village, met up with @Judithgreenwood at Stratford and made our way to the Riverway Arena to settle into a monring of Men's Hockey. Fanulous games - Australia drew 2-2 with Argentina which is good news for the GB draw and the Netherlands beat New Zealang 5-1. Judith had managed to get us front row seats - facing directly into the sun, so photos were tricky and sun-burn was a dead cert!! Once games were over (and a passing rainshower had gone) we headed off for food and then a wander around the Park - amanged to find this piece of peace and quiet away from the buzz of people. The crowds were immense by about 3 so I decided to head home rather than burn further and get crushed at the big screens! Got masses of photos, alternative hockey shot http://365project.org/sparkle/around-the-worl/2012-08-03 and Argentinian team lining up for a shot at goal (and they scored!). http://365project.org/sparkle/alternative-365/2012-08-03
This is fantastic, especially in the larger version; there's so much detail in it. Awesome HDR job, it still looks pretty natural, only better! ;-) So cool that you had the chance to be there; must be a lifetime experience!
Great shot... really can't wait to go.. I saw there was some good looking clouds when I sen out at lunchtime and wondered if you'd get a shot of them and the park...
Juliette, this is a fantastic shot, and probably as close as I am going to get to the Olympics!! great composition and detail and clarity here, a definite FAV!
