Had a great day. The snow had settled in from last night; about 3-4 inches all told. I woke to the sound of spinning wheels and children squealing with excitement! Had a leisurely breakfast and got myself wrapped up and took off out with camera for about 3 hours! Retraced my running route from yesterday (ended up on my backside up at the farm...remembered there was a big icy puddle but didn't think it through that it'd be slippy with snow on top!!). Great fun trudging through new snow - and good practice for my trekking later in the month! Shots were really tricky; the sky was as white as the landscape so came back towards the canal to get some more contrast. Ended up at these 2 boats again - how different they look with some snow about them! Off for a swim in a bit and a bit of housework if I can be bothered later. Hope you've all had a good Sunday.
Wow that looks cold. Great composition. I know what you mean about the sky. I say embrace the white... am about to post my bleakest picture yet I think.... Hope your gloves kept you warm.
Now these are lovely too!! The half frozen water looks great. I think we have more like 6-8 inches - my legs are killing me now - it's like running on sand! I've taken some bracketed shots - can you remind me which program you use & is it the same one as @fueast?
I always see these type of boats on Coronation Street (yes, my husband and I are addicted) and think they're so wonderful. My husband likes to explain them to me every time, lol. (He's from England)
@judithg yes, it was like walking on sand only wetter!! Yes same a Alison uses Photomatix - all instructions are on that tutorial I did. If you have trouble maybe I can help you out next weekend too!
This is really beautiful, Juliette! Snow photos always make me happy, and this one is fabulous. I love seeing the same subject from a different perspective. White skies have been the bain of my existence lately.
Your landscape pics are always stunning!!!
lovely snow on ice
Congrats on the PP
