From barracks to museum - Castelvecchio

This area of the Castle was built as barracks for the troops but in 1923 the City Council decided to transform it into a museum.
The Civic Museum houses collections of ancient and modern art along with the archaeological and natural ones. There are also paintings of great value, most of local painters, sculptures, an armory, an exhibition of fabrics of great value and a concert hall.

This is very very well done. The glow of this space at the castle is very inviting. Glad that it was transformed into a gentle space.

The castle is one of the best museum in Verona, but some months ago there was a theft and many objects of great value were stolen.
