Sun on stairs

I was so taken with the rays in the stairwell today that I asked one of my advisory students to go get my camera bag for me. Glad I did.

@bankmann suggests you view large, and I guess I can't disagree.
I don't know if it's too late for the theme, four, but this would work! Awesome shot!

Should really be viewed up large, against a dark background; gives it so much more punch. Great mood in this.

I can see why you were drawn to it. Too bad we don't all have photo assistants!! :-)

LOVE IT. Is that the rail at the top right? Good student. EC points!

Oh, and many htanks for the fav on the mono shot of my mums--I much prefer it to the other one, so it really made my day that you decided that too. :)

This is super. Love the light

@darylo yep. Is the railing distracting? I frankly didn't notice it till it was posted.

Funny that I end up with an arguably abstract shot on a day of conversation about it. It wasn't purposeful. But the title was. A delaration of quiddity. Once you read the title, can it be abstract? :^)

@danette Thanks so much, all. This is the first photo lately where I've felt my ebbandflophojo back in flow mode. Creativity's an elusive companion. More like a cat than a dog. I need to remember to just let it call the shots, and nurture it when it stops by to acknowledge me.

A wonderfully simple and effective composition. Hmm, sorry, hope you don't mind me saying, but yes, that railing does distract a bit. Even more brilliant on the black background. Super shot!

@squamloon I think you and I are pretty much in the same boat with abstract stuff. I think there is much more latitude with abstract photography than with abstract art, at least in my research. I'm behind on our conversation, but I loved what you came up with for articles, and that's where I'm stuck, but photography is different. This is when I wish we were all on Skype and could go back and forth because I know what I just said made no sense, but I can tell you this: the use of "quiddity" is fantastic, and you get major points for that. Railing was a bit distracting for me, but then I liked it as it provided mystery. And let the ebbandflophojo do its thing. I do love this shot. That's why I fav'd it. :)
