The Flag ,the Coke man, the Cable way and the Table cloth

Our famous Table mountain decked with its cloud tablecloth, the best views of the city from the cable car restaurant ,the coke man's right hand is pointing it out,Our waterfront filled with shops and restaurants...a favourite for tourists and locals alike.
The Coke case man is constructed from the plastic crates that hold the 2 liter coke bottles,he was erected a couple of years back and the structure, named Elliot after the foreman of the team that built him, was made from 4200 crates and stands 18 meters tall.

The result of the mountain being on a peninsula and between two oceans of different temperature the warmer air meeting the cooler air .

What a great shot and it shows such dedication by the South African people to drink so much coke that the coke man could exist!

Have never seen such fabulous cloud cover! The mountains, clouds, and sky really drew me in immediate . . in spite of the Coke man. What a gorgeous scene. Did you use a tripod and/or wide angle lens for this one, Howard?

Coke man looks like Lego man to me, but then again, they say imitation is the highest form of flattery! The mountain with its tablecloth is so interesting to me- especially with the natural effects that cause it. I wonder if the restaurant really provides a view though- or a chance to sit inside while a foggy cloud envelopes you! Nice shot- and I like the flag in there for good measure!

Love the colors in this. Gorgeous shot.
posted February 18th, 2012
Hmmm, while I find this interesting - I think the scene would be SO much more beautiful without Coke man in the shot. But what do you do....
posted February 18th, 2012
(Not critiquing your photography, at all - I just dislike large plastic structures that mar naturally beautiful images!)

Me too, Howard. Just bought a tripod and think that I wasted my money. I'm a constant mover when I am out there. Thanks for answering the question.
