@tooki@debsulzberger@debsphotos@summerfield It's the skull from a juvenile cape fur seal ,there's a seal colony on one of the rocky islands up coast from here and in rough weather they often succumb to the elements and are washed ashore.When found alive we have a couple of seal rescue stations where they are taken to to and once recovered they are released. http://www.africanconservation.org/content/view/1386/409/
The cycle of nature is designed for such but we don't like to think of death so it's always a harsh reminder when we see something like this. Great capture- the bright lighting and starkness of the skull against the sand really emphasize the point.
