@tooki @debsulzberger @debsphotos @summerfield It's the skull from a juvenile cape fur seal ,there's a seal colony on one of the rocky islands up coast from here and in rough weather they often succumb to the elements and are washed ashore.When found alive we have a couple of seal rescue stations where they are taken to to and once recovered they are released.

The cycle of nature is designed for such but we don't like to think of death so it's always a harsh reminder when we see something like this. Great capture- the bright lighting and starkness of the skull against the sand really emphasize the point.
