Chilling in the green room by steeler

Chilling in the green room

One for Denise and Jay @noo This is one of our colder surf spots, -10°C water temp and the wind chill is just crazy. The local surfers aren't to warm to strangers either..,when it comes to sharing the break....I did surf here as a youngster and after about 20 mins in the water you weren't able to feel your feet any-more.

A beautiful seascape, and I love the surfer at the end of the turning wave.

Chilly, love the waves and colours.

The colours of the sea are wonderful, you wouldn't see me in the water if it's that cold!

Aha! That water temp sounds scary. The water here has cooled dramatically in the last few weeks, its now about 13 deg c, and J sick of his 'holey' wetsuit flushing the cold water through, has just ordered a new custom one. This looks like a pretty good break though. Only for the toughest I suspect. Wind Chill is a scary prospect too. The cold water here in Port Fairy on my feet can make me feel nauseous I would be in strife at this break. How do they not get hypothermia..........

If I didn't know you were in SA, and you're heading toward winter, I would think I was looking at a beautiful summer beach scene. I was at the beach yesterday enjoying 85 degree temps - just a bit too humid, though!

Great POV and capture of the surfer. Can't imagine going in water that cold.

Brrrrrrrr! I can't believe the water's that cold when it looks so sunny and warm- but looks can be deceiving as they say.

That's much too cold for me, Howard. Even in mid-winter, the sea is warmer than that. Fantastic colours in this shot and I love the waves. Beautiful.
