howard, you did it again. great composition. love how you placed the tree just to the edge of your 'window frame', it is like looking at a wall hanging and looking out the window, whichever the eye and the mind wants. the sun flare is a generous bonus. what a great shot!

Yep, all of that. I expect to look out and see the bad guys riding slowly up, like an old western. I can feel the sun beating down.

Wow--awesome shot! It does have a feeling of desolation to it. Like the framing of the window, and the glimpse of the mountains through it.
posted August 3rd, 2012
interesting how the tree is in such a state of desolation, along with the house. all peeled, weathered, as if each knows the other has been abandoned and there is no hope, so might as well wither. wonderful framing.

This is STUNNING. I love how the outside merges with the bottom of the window gap. It almost looks like a trompe-l'oeil painting.
posted August 6th, 2012
Great shot. Superb framing to give us that view which is so vast. The bare tree adds to that lonesome and lost feeling about this.

Howard, this is so beautiful. You have forced me to look at photo's again. I guess I must haul the camera out again but maybe not today.
