The dead pan in the Sossusvlei This region has a couple of days of rain over February and in some years nothing ..the grove of trees stand as reminders of a greener past some 900 years ago.

Reaching out to the sky, these dead branches! Yet in other parts of the world, too much water! Maybe someone can come up with a bright idea!

There is so much beauty in this starkness. Here close to my house is a similar scene but the dead trees are drowned in a salt marsh
