Still can't get over them putting up a structure like that, but guess it works. Great shot.

@rickster549 There are quite a few of these fences all around the outskirts of the village... quite bizarre looking even though they have an important purpose.

Nice horizontal geometry in this and lovely colours. When I moved to this part of Sweden some 30 years ago the used to put up snow fences on certain locations in the winter. Now they don't anymore because of cost. The effect is that when there is snow some parts of the roads are impossible to reach due to drifting snow.

@ingajohansson Thank you for that information... this is all so new to me, even though I have lived in native villages below the Arctic Circle... never this far north. So these fences do make a big difference!

@lyndamcg Yes they are, and they do really help.

@stefneyhart Yes they do. Here they were made of sturdy net but with a big effect.

Love this shot - the simplicty and the feeling of cold and isolation it portrays.

Is that the same fence curving round to the buildings at the back. Quite something.

@helenhall I'm sorry, Helen, I'm not sure that I understand your question. There are quite a few of these fences in every direction, on the out skirts of the village.

The color of that sky -- emphasizes the coldness. Nice composition.
