Day 21 - 30 days wild 2016

I regularly walk my dogs in a park very nearby. It is so beautiful. It has open fields and woods and ponds too. I walk there regularly at least 2-3 times a week. I have walked past this hollow tree so many times and in all honestly I have never paid any attention to it. So, looking up, I was pretty surprised to find that despite the fact that it has no middle at all, [pic 4 was taken with me standing right inside the tree looking straight up] its branches still produce leaves!

I looked this up and it seems so long as the bark is intact and connected from the roots up to the branches then the tree will survive. Pretty amazing really....
What an amazing tree. I love the one from the inside looking up. The colours and the textures really stand out.

Super collage. I realized that you are in the Uk. Wouldn't get too close to a tree like this in our bushland, it could be full of all sorts of interesting creatures including spiders and snakes.

You've given this hardy stubborn tree the notice that it deserves. I admire how nature is so adaptable and resilient. Wish we humans were more respectful of our environment.
