This is a shot of my sister Caroline and her husband Dan, taken in Carnaby Street in London.
Even the though sun was coming from behind I spotted a reflection from a building behind me casting a spot light onto the path so got them to stand right in it to illuminate them.
They came down from Norwich at the last-minute for an overnight visit so we headed into London to see what we could of the St Patricks Day celebrations. It was mad, but fun, people out and enjoying themselves and soaking up the atmosphere.
I thought about lots of colourful shots of people having fun which I got a few of, but in the end a shot of these two means more to me, so I have gone with this as the day's upload.
It would be nice to one day find someone to share a life with in the way that they have. They are a great couple and I love them both very much. Dan is a great brother-in-law and a very welcome part of my family. He is also great for my sister and the seem to compliment each other perfectly. They are also expecting a baby later in the year, and I know they'll make great parents.
(Also - the name 'Gaddy' goes all the way back to when we were children and were unable to pronounce her as Caroline; instead we called her Gaddygine. So it was shortened to Gaddy and has stuck ever since.)
Lovely story & family togetherness.....I'm sure there is someone out there for you somewhere Steve! Love the light bulbs hanging down...that light shines straight on them!
Lovely shot got them both well positioned. Good to hear that they get on sowell and both mean a lot to you, there definately is someone out there for you as well
@debbie3108 Debbie, thank and very kind of you. And no offence taken...I'm a romantic. It might be my undoing, but then it might just make someone lucky one day :)
Cool freaking shot. I'd love to have somebody photograph me hanging out looking this cool. And it's a great light. A little dodge and burning going on? Perfect choices.
@adambralston Thank you Adam. No dodging/burning, but a little vignetting round the edges added in post. Then a contrast push. Other than that it's what was there on the day. The contrast as it was, was very harsh so it works well.
