Day 078, Year 2 - Bracing, Beautiful Brancaster

After a nights at my sister's house, I was picked up by a friend and we drove up to hers in North Norfolk, where she lives just outside the village of Brancaster.

We went for a great walk in the bracing wind along the vast beach to see some seal pups, then dropped her car off at home and went to the hotel where she works nearby and settled into a long afternoon and evening of drinking and eating...awesome!

I love this part of my home county :)

That's a neat photo of the house on the rocks! My idea of Norfolk!

@khirsch This is my favourite beach. I haven't been to many abroad and one day will see many more that take my breather away, but this is so lovely. Thank you for the compliment :)

@maggiemae Thank you Maggie. The whole of the North Norfolk coast is like this. Recommended visiting!

@bethanyjay Thank you Bethany. As for pointers...I think I tried to follow the Rule Of Thirds, which is why the line of rocks is on the upper third line in the frame. Imagine a grid over the frame, 3 across and 3 down, and the points where the lines cross are good points for key subject areas to be. It's not THE rule, and it's there to be broken but it's certainly a good base to start with especially with a landscape like this.
Try looking at this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds
And if you type it into Google then you'll find a load of articles on it.
I could have also put the house and the rock line in the lower third but the sand was what I was trying to show.
The sand isn't blurred, as my shutter speed was very quick. It's just that it was moving across the top so fast but so low that it appears blurry.
