Day off number 2 yesterday, and after starting the afternoon with lunch at a pub in Greenwich market, we walked from the Greenland pier in Southwark all the way to the London Eye. This is Shad Thames just off from the Thames Walk, behind the Butler's Wharf apartment buildings, next to Tower Bridge.
After saying goodbye to my friend at the London Eye, I decided to walk across the river, up through Trafalgar Square, up Regent Street and along Oxford Street to Marble Arch tube station, so about 7.6 miles all in all.
@vokesy I tend to get around 5 miles a day on a day off. I was working today in London and managed to get around 3 miles. I hate the gym so I walk a lot.
@vokesy Good idea.. I could include good places for coffee in the morning, a nice spot for lunch somewhere, then a good place for a beer/cocktail in the evening :)
I am thinking of joining a gym nearby - it's something like £20 a month and it's about 250 yards away. I don;t like them in general but only cos I get bored easily. But it's so close it's almost worth it. At least when I walk 6 miles I can take my camera and get my shot for the day :)
I really like the perspective in this -- I've walked there myself, pretty much the same route as you took. London is such a great city to explore on foot. Fav
I'd love to get down to London one day with the camera, I bet you'd do a great photowalk!
