Day 099, Year 2 - Big Red, Waiting In Traffic

I spent Wednesday in London with my best mate. We met for lunch on the South Bank, then walked across Charing Cross bridge (where I took this) to Covent Garden for a beer in the sun. Then on to Goodge Street for another beer, where we met up with his lady friend and went out for tapas then cocktails. We even ended up in Bar Italia for coffee before heading home.
It was a rather lovely day all round, and great to experience more of what London has to offer although I spent a small fortune so might be a while before ding it again..! :)
Great use of sc, Makes me nostalgic for home when I see these old buses

Sounds a good day to me! I have never been able to do SC like this. I cheat & use the b./w focal button sometimes but the shape has to be round...one day I might master this. Great icon of that big red bus.

I really enjoy the way you describe your itinerary.. it's like I´m walking there with you...:) I love when you do the selective color thing. This London bus is a classic. I think I'd just try to make it a little bit lighter.

I like it a lot. It's kind of iconic in its own way - i.e London jams and the red of the bus. You could say the bus is jam red. A fav for me. :)

The red bus is such an iconic image, and reminds me of an article a British illustrator once wrote about being told by his publisher, "No Red Buses, Please." Apparently, it was hard to sell book rights to foreign publishers that were "too British" but frankly, I prefer books that are firmly grounded with a sense of place. This image does just that.

@happypat Pat. This was and in most cases is easy. In CameraRaw I open up the file, go to the HSL/Grayscale panel, then under the Saturation tab I take out all the colours except the one I want to keep. Red seems to be easiest in most of SC shots. Then I slightly push Saturation in the Basic editing panel, open up the shot in Photoshop and use the Sponge with the Desaturation option selected from the drop-down and go over all the areas of the photo that still might have some odd colour in it.
Make sense? :)
