Day 132, Year 2 - London Storm Brewing

Yesterday was supposed to be a day where I got up early-ish, headed into town to get some vital shopping done, and be back home in time to have my packing done sometime around mid-evening.

Best laid plans and all that...I was in London and first got caught up in the chaos at around 2.30pm, with my Fuji X100 at Oxford Circus where I discovered you can now cross the junction diagonally. So I stood in the middle of the road on Regent Street looking south for about 20 minutes snapping away, then hovered around the general area at various places for another 30 minutes or so, clicking away. I then did some more shopping taking in Piccadilly Circus for a while and then slowly headed back to Oxford Circus to the tube.

On the way though I was caught up, a bit mesmerised really on the awesome sunlight that was shining down on the gorgeous architecture on Regent Street as it curves round to Piccadilly Circus, along with the brooding dark clouds behind it all. It was a delight and dare I say it, a photographers dream. I was there for ages. I ended up getting home around 8pm. I finished packing for my trip to Spain around 1am, and didn't really get sleep before getting up at 3am to head to Gatwick for the flight. As I write this I am shattered, but it was totally worth it.

I love moments like this, where I am immersed for a while in the surroundings trying to capture that one in a million shot, the one that sticks out as 'the best', the one I can be finally happy with for the shot of the day...!

I don't think I am totally happy with it in a way...but that's fine. It just means I have a great excuse to go back again soon and play all over again...! :)
