Day 085, Year 3 - Richard, Finally Resting

This is the final resting place of Richard 3rd, after his reinterment in Leicester Cathedral. After being in Leicester for the best part of a week with some very long days we wrapped and cleared up before heading home the next day. It was a very interesting job and I actually learned quite a few things I had previously not known about this particular former king.

After clearing the last piece of kit away I quickly ran back into the cathedral with my camera to grab a shot of the stone surround where the coffin was laid.

3 good things:

1 - Nice smooth transmission to round off this particular event
2 - The last meal in the Red Hot Buffet Shack where we had been catered every meal each day...it just got a bit too much...even the chocolate fountain :)
3 - A good and smooth de-rig of what was quite a large job from a technical point of view
This is a very beautiful perceptive Steve. Love the simple inscription. I am glad that Leicester got him rather than York.

Love the simplicity.
I still don't really understand why they didn't take him home to York, but Leicester have done a nice job.

Richard was just laid to rest last week, wasn't he? He was found under a foundation about 1yr ago if I recall.
Very nice shot. Almost looks like the tomb is floating above the tile.

@mtnrunner Bret, it was around 3 years ago he was found under a car park in the city of Leicester, ironically under a car park space marked with the letter 'R'. This is the day he was finally laid to rest in the Cathedral.

@happypat Thank you, I do too. I think it looks very classy. And yes I am too...not because I understand the politics of Leicester vs York, but mostly because he was killed and then found again in Leicester so why not.

@humphreyhippo Thank you :)
They did do a good job I think. Very nice way to put a respectful end to the story.
