This is a shot of The Mall in London with Buckingham Palace in the distance, taken yesterday morning at 7am (the EXIF is wrong as I haven't updated my camera).
I was working in London over the weekend as part of the BBC's VE Day celebrations and was based in and around St. James' Park. An early start to the day meant that The Mall was almost empty and closed to everyone except Police and service traffic. It was a tad eery but at the same time very peaceful to see it so empty. And it looked very smart with the 'Union Jack' flags flying from end to end.
1 - Great fun being part of the VE Day celebrations for the BBC
2 - I got to see the Red Arrows for the first time ever
3 - Good to get home again after a few days away
