Day 213, Year 3 - Capture In Cromer

Looks good viewed large, on black if you have time :)

After waking up in the lovely Georgian Townhouse Hotel in Norwich we spent the day doing not a lot at all really, but after dinner we headed up to the nor Norfolk coast to Cromer for a shot of the hour. I missed the golden hour of sunset but then the blue hour gave us lots to look at.

As ever...I like the shot but not entirely happy with it. I decided while editing this that a Big Stopper ND filter would have been ideal. I really must take the plunge and buy one.

3 good things:

1 - Breakfast at the Georgian Townhouse Hotel in Norwich
2 - First run in a while, and the first ever with Rachel
3 - Hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows as a late evening treat
I really like this and I think you got a much better image of the blue hour than you would have with the sunset

This is lovely. The curved steps in the foreground add interest. The golden lights against the blue draws my eye to the end of the pier.

Excellent shot and I love the lighting.

The composition is impeccable. Go for it with the Big Stopper.

wonderful image.

20 secs - wow - first impression was longer. Personally I'd prefer a bit "less bright" - hope you know what I mean. But fab capture. Love the curve of the stairs.

@kwiksilver Gillian. Do you mean the overall exposure down a bit?
I was tinkering with this for a while but in the end it was really just a contrast and saturation boost.

@stevecameras Not overall exposure, Steve, just on the lights in the front, at the top of the stairs. Having said that however, I must add that on looking at it again today, it's not as "overly bright" as I first thought.

@kwiksilver Yes I do see what you mean. I think my liking for high contrast probably helped in tweaking the lights 'up' a bit :)

This is beautiful....great light, wonderful composition, and I love that time of day. That being said, those ND filters are wonderful, and I am thinking of getting a really decent one for those silky waters myself! I don't mind the light at the right....it draws your eye into the entry!

G'Heavens, I've looked at this so often and haven't yet fav'd! Apologies Totally love it which is probably why I was so nitpicky about it!

@kwiksilver Now worries...I prefer a comment over a fav :)
I don't mind the nitpick...as long as you didn't just say, you hated it. That would be mean. But any thoughts either way are good because it makes me stand back and think about what I like and why, and what others like about it too.

@panthora Thank you. I think the blue hour here did better than the golden hour might have done.
Also I love blue, as my thumbnails will show. I think the ND would be great. I'm very tempted.

Well a bit late to the party but Fav - that sea looks incredible.

@judithg Thank you.
And don't worry...I haven't been on here for longer than it takes to upload a picture in ages. I am so behind in getting mine up that most of the time they go unnoticed. :))
