Taken today with only a few minutes to get a shot, before heading to Norwich to see a friend for coffee and go shopping for Alexis' birthday, this is Gorleston beach between Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft.
I was hoping for a bit more movement using my BigStopper ND filter but when you use it during the day, the camera still only needs around 20-30 seconds. If I want to make it longer I would need another few stops of ND on the front of the lens.
I am hoping to get down to the beach again for a few sunrises over the next week or so.
3 good things:
1 - Drinking my own coffee at home...I have missed good coffee whilst being away in the UAE
2 - Catching up with my friend over (more) coffee
3 - A good run along the seafront this evening before dinner
You make me want to go out with my ND filter. I find it frustrating to use as I still haven't a strategy for how to do settings except by trial and error. Your scene is stunning!
Such a contrast to your UAE photos Steve but beauty too in these more subtle pictures. I have never used a filter such as this. Will google it to see what it does. The walkers add that lovely focal point.
The long exposure adds to a very moody feeling. I love the two tiny figures in the far background. Interesting how you integrated the wall. I would never have thought that it would look so good. But it actually adds some spice.
@taffy I'm sure in the US if you by the Lee BigStopper it will come with a little exposure guide, but there are loads of tables to look at the exposure times before and after the ND is applied which will give you a fairly good idea of what to do. :)
