Day 103, Year 4 - Calm After The Storm At Herringfleet
Herringfleet mill in Suffolk just a few minutes away in the car, and just as I arrived there I noticed lightening in the distance. I could have made it back to the car in time but decided to stay and brave the elements in the shed just behind the mill. I got a great view of the storm, including lots of lightening, and tried to capture some with my ND filter and a few 30-second exposures but I was a few seconds out for one attempt, and then the forks didn't come down within the field of view. As the weather passed over I wandered back out and grabbed some shots as the sun came beaming out behind me. I love it when it does this, and almost every time the sunshine does indeed follow the rain!
3 good things:
1 - Coffee with April in the morning and a finished edit of "A Lady Wandering" seen here: http://365project.org/stevecameras/365-almost/2016-04-04
2 - Great thunder and lightening storm while out shooting the mill
3 - Awesome run along the seafront under a crescent moon and a canopy of stars
Wow! Clearly I can't afford to miss a single day of your project! ...and clearly I need to spend a LOT more time in GB!. Who knew that grey rainy old place had so many beautiful treasures..??
I got lucky with the weather but also decided to stay out and brave the storm (albeit in the shed next to the mill) rather than head back to the car. I ended up being there for about 3 hours and it was all worth it.
