After watching the weather forecast for today on television yesterday, my photographer friend whom I've been staying with suggested we go down to the south coast and try and grab a shot of the lighthouse at Newhaven.
It's not quite as dramatic as some of the shots of the storms recently but it was good fun to be down there. The tide was almost at it's furthest point away from the shore so we didn't have much time with good waves but we still managed to grab a few frames, and fortunately all done from the inside of my friends car which was good as it really was horrendous outside.
I'm not sure if noticeable but these images were taken on my friend's Canon EOS 1D Mark 4 and the noise quality is terrible. Even at ISO400 there are red blotches. This is a news/sports camera and definitely not a landscape camera. Still fun to play with though :)
3 good things:
1 - Good fun at Newhaven and worth the early start
2 - Watching the new movie Doctor Strange with my brother at the cinema
3 - Homemade curry with my brother and his wife
Even with its flaws it is still a dramatic shot! I have been in the US too long, I saw the name New Haven and thought of the east coast US. Just remember if you make it to Chicago then either Taffy or I, or both of us would be happy to be your tour guide!
