After a long layoff due to health problems and hospital trips, I finally got out for a hour today and as expected, I'm well out of practice. I need to try to keep getting out now to get my eye in again.
A trip to the local lake produced a sighting of this Great Crested Grebe and it's chick wrestling with a fair sized pike which was obviously far too big for either of them to manage. After some considerable time and a lot of maneuvering, the Grebe finally gave in and the pike swam off to live another day.
