I went searching for a picture this morning and found these two beautiful Banana Spiders in my front yard. The one on the left is a top picture and the one on the right is a "from underneath" picture. I love Banana Spiders! I think they are beautiful, they are harmless and they eat mosquitoes! We had the big momma last year so these must be her offspring. And we have a few in the back by the tomatoes so we may have lots and lots next year!
The one on the left is about two inches toe to toe!
I love th eone on the left - none of the spiders I have seen/photographed look as cool as he does. And thanks for bear link - how freaky and scary is that!! Of course we just get kangaroos and koalas in uor back yard .... (wink)
These spiders are impressive -- its a great thing that they eat mosquitos. I'm impressed that you seem to be not scared of them at all -- their size frightens me.
WOW. What incredible details you've got. The colors are beautiful, too. I'm pretty sure I would not have been able to get that close! I got the willies just looking at these two!
