For just $1,731.60 US my parents bought a new Chevy just a few months before I was born. I was going through some old documents today and came upon this. I have to wonder why they kept this all those years. Maybe because, like some of the stupid stuff I have kept, you just keep it so long that you can't get rid of it or it will invalidate your having kept it.
I did throw away some really stupid stuff, but I kept this! Just look at the price of gas in 1946 - 22 cents a gallon!
Oh yes, I have an invoice or two from my younger days and it's hard to believe how the prices have gone through the roof, and the quality has gone through the basement.
Great photo! Especially since it's from my birth year, too! I'm pretty sure that Mustang convertible my dad bought was around $2500.00 and boy, do I wish I had one now. They're so expensive!
My next home project is to go thru my parents' pictures which are mostly on slides. I need a nice glass of wine, a slide projector, a card table, a box of kleenex and a big block of time to get it done.
