This is a view of the town of Sedona. It is a small town but due to tourism it has grown in recent years. There are many beautiful restaurants and shops but it is the views and the hiking that win hearts.
From the internet - "Sedona is an Arizona desert town near Flagstaff that’s surrounded by red-rock buttes, steep canyon walls and pine forests. It’s noted for its mild climate and vibrant arts community. Uptown Sedona is dense with New Age shops, spas and art galleries. On the town’s outskirts, numerous trailheads access Red Rock State Park, which offers bird-watching, hiking and picnicking."
The first time I was there we were just driving through the desert and then boom it opens up to this! Like a fish tank had been emptied and the landscape was still saturated with colour. Fabulous. @tonydebont The same thing happens with Bryce Canyon, yes... you have captured my memories of this perfectly.
I was in Oak Creek Canyon MANY years ago now! What a beautiful part of our country. It's always been my hope that someday my husband and I could get out there to see it again. Gorgeous shot- fav!
Oh my! What a fantastic, sweeping view of the red rock country and Sedona! I passed through years ago but never got to explore Sedona. However, I remember well the nearby arts community of Jerome! As for your question, the house is called Millford and is in a remote part of rural Sumter County. Fascinating and beautiful. And what a location!
what a fabulous landscape. The drone tour was amazing and those people standing on the rocks gave me the shivers. I know i am going to enjoy your travel photos
@olivetreeann Thank you so much for the FAV! And I really hope that you get back out here again one day. It is so different than the east coast - both beautiful but very different.
@redy4et Thank you, Elizabeth for your sweet comment. Someone told me years ago, if you want to take beautiful pictures, go where it is beautiful. Best advise ever! Thank you for the FAV!
@congaree Hi, John! Yes, we visited Jerome also. As I said we had a local as our tour guide and she made sure we saw all the most important things in just a few days - of course we were all partying also. Thanks again for stopping by my page.
Uau! Arizona! This picture reminds me in my juvenile imagination of those classic cowboys films that often passed on Portuguese television. So beautiful landscape!
No wonder, my former neighbor and friend loved it Sedona. she was vacationing there many times, but she moved to NF from here. I miss her. this is a breathtaking vista. am anxious to follow your trip. fav.
