Sawtelle Mountain Hike by stownsend

Sawtelle Mountain Hike

From Wyoming we went to the northern part of Idaho for a few days. This was one of our hikes. We were at 9,000 feet in elevation (almost 2800 meters) for this hike and I had to quit early and return to the car. I can't breath in those altitudes so Kirby and our dog Jake continued on for another few miles. This hike had lots and lots of ups and downs. There were wonderful vistas and lots of wildflowers.

This is in my Travels album from a trip in 2015.
I would be returning to the car with you! Lol! Looks a lovely place for a walk. Are there bears around?

@pamknowler Pam, I do think there are bears but we always had our big dog, Jake, so we almost never saw any wildlife. Once a big snowshoe rabbit ran in front of us because Jake scared him. Jake never saw him - he was after some quail.

Looks like a beautiful spot. I would struggle with the walking too- but it sounds like even though your hike was cut short, you still saw some beautiful things.

@olivetreeann @wendyfrost Thank you for your comments. I did get quite a walk/climb in and enjoyed it very much. My husband could always out-walk me no matter what!
