Here are the 365ers that gathered at Wild Animal Park in Escondido to take advantage of the Butterfly Jungle, a temporary exhibit that's offered for about five weeks this time every year. From left to right, Anita, @aglennc, Maria, @mariaostrowski, yours truly (and yes, that's a rainbow lorikeet on my head), and the Louise half of Louise and Ken, @Weezilou. You can't quite see them, but we were surrounded by many, many colorful butterflies.
Thats an Australian parrot you have there Ron, wants to be on 365 with all the other parrots shown from this end of the world. Hope you all got great photo and had fun
So nice that you all can get together now and again Ron its so nice also to put a face to the tags of our 365ers, I have to admit I thought you liked to wear colourful head gear but this is ridiculous, lol:)
an absolutely fabulous and priceless photograph.. as others have already stated, it IS good to put faces to names.. you all look so very happy in each others company.. love the headgear Ron..
@terryliv Can't argue the thorn comparison, for sure! As for my kneeling, no, not actually. In fact, I wasn't really even in the photo. I took a photo that Anita had taken of me in the lorikeet aviary (explaining the head dress), and photoshopped myself in. I thought it was fairly obvious myself, but nobody seemed to take note. Maybe I'm a better photoshopper than I thought!
@gaylewood Thanks Gayle - always a good time when these folks get together. I think that's going to be pretty much the case when any of our 365ers meet each other in person.
@joannakate Yep, a rainbow lorikeet. As I wrote in response to Poppo above, I pasted the shot in from one that was taken inside the lorikeet aviary. I somehow became one of their favorite perches, at one time having six of them sitting on various parts of my body. Somewhere on 365 here are some photos that the kind ladies snapped while I was being inundated by these guys. Maybe they knew how much I like Australians!
@pcoulson Thanks Peter - funny, I rarely like hats, hoods, anything on my head. Now, a lorikeet, that's a whole different story! I'm sure you realized that I had photoshopped myself in with your innate powers of observation. ;-)
@farmreporter Thanks Wendy - I'm sure we all look exactly like your mental image, right? ;-) Thanks for stopping by and I urge you to get together with other 365ers when the opportunity presents itself. I know you're not exactly in the froth of civilization, but I know of a few of our folks that are in the Toronto area.
@gardenfolk Thanks CC. Yep, when you're busy doing a photo-a-day, you're often caught with a camera (or two) handing off the neck. They're good folks there in that shot. :-)
This is a totally fun photo, Ron! Just shy one flamingo : )
