Another wonderful capture from the San Diego Zoo, lovely sharp focus and detail of the Koala bear against the soft background makes for a wonderful image Ron.
Aww....come on Ron, you can't post shots like this - way too cute. Nice job focusing the light in post to highlight the little fellow and the composition and your technique are both spot on for me. fav.
@pcoulson Thanks, Peter. I had to work hard to get the right background. There are ample opportunities to catch the Koalas, but most of the backgrounds are pretty unattractive or they're faced the wrong way, or they're buried in Eucalyptus. After waiting I finally got the shot I wanted - and was rewarded!

@terryliv@grahambudd Yeah, that's bordering on cheating, I guess. No apologies from here though. I actually didn't do that much in post with this shot. It was late in the day (a rare time when they're not sleeping) and was fortunate enough to have just the right light. I had to crank the ISO up to 1600 and open the aperature as much as my zoom would allow. I'm a but surprised it came out as clear as it did.
Great shot of one of our native animals. I have been lucky enough to have the odd male sleep in a tree at our place on his way to look for a mate. They only stay for a short while two nights if we are lucky.

Oh man! This is definitely adorabler. My aunt was just visiting in Australia, not too terrible far from where Poppo Livy resides. She visited some wild animal park where she was able to hold a koala and have her picture taken. Needless to say, I was definitely envious. Great comp on this pic.
