The 49er's in Bloom

One of the favorite flowers in my garden is this 49er rose bush. I don't know if it's named after the San Francisco American Football team or not, but it does sort of match their colors. I like the flower regardless.
This is a lovely rose Ron, beautiful variegated colors!

@dianeburns OK, I admit I had to look up variegated. Turns out it's a good thing! Thanks, Diane! That's basically a SOOC shot. It's a (relatively) long exposure, 1/25 sec, and those just seem to be rich with color. It was also late afternoon, so the sun color was kind to me too.

@terryliv Very me?!? I assume you mean brilliant, vibrant, and fascinating? Or maybe slightly narrowly focused?

Wonderful capture Ron, superb positioning, colours and as usual great use of depth of field, English roses are always named after people or famous things, I would almost guarantee this rose is named after the world famous 49ers;)

You captured those colors so well!! Plus the focus is really good!

@pcoulson Thanks for the compliments, Peter. I'm sure that you're correct on the name thing. Too bad - we are NOT 49er fans here in Southern California! I may have to go out and dig it up.

@lyndemc I know you don't throw around terms like exquisite lightly, so I am truly humbled. Actually I'm all giddy - thanks so much for the fav! I have much to live up to now!

Top shot Ron. Greens are notoriously hard to handle, but these seem just right, and set off the blooms perfectly. Sharp focus/drop focus is spot on.
