Highway US 50, which runs through northern Nevada, really is officially known as America's Loneliest Highway. It's a little dicey on a bike, as gas stops are few and far between. The motorcycle adventure was drawing to a close at this point.
We've taken this road and, yes, it is very appropriately named!! But your photo reminds me of all the times we took this and other roads like it when I was a kid -- Dad would drive those little ups and downs a little faster so my brother and I would feel the "butterflies" in our stomachs. Great capture too..... of the length of "desolation" out there.
