It's unusually chilly in So Cal presently. You don't often get to capture the contrast presented by palm trees with snow in the background. Happy New Year to all and it feels really good to be back taking and posting on 365 again!
Wonderful shot and contrast Ron. Oh how I long for Palm trees right now! Welcome back! I've been gone since August and am very excited to see what everyone's been up to and to start shooting again :)
Yup, there's something you don't often see! (referring to the snow on those Southern Cal mts, not the picture from Ron. He hee) Hey, it's GREAT to have you back, not only to see your pictures but to know life is maybe cuttin' you some slack now. Happy snapping in the year ahead.
@marmaladeskyes Thanks, Tracy. I, too, have been gone since August and also look forward to seeing what you and everyone else has been up to. Welcome back to you!
@pcoulson Ah, good to have your encouraging comments and support, Peter. Thanks for the warm welcome back. I also look forward to seeing what you bring us. Congrats on making the trending page!
@lyndemc Thanks Denise! Yeah, things got a little busy there, and I think I'm past that and can concentrate on trying to improve on the photographic abilities. Let's see, shutter speed, aperture, and....ummm....OK, I'm a bit rusty. Gimme time.
@terryliv Ha, thanks for the fav, Terry! Whatever it takes. I have truly missed your contributions and humor and look forward to another year of your postings and comments. Good to be back!
Well, at least I know we're in the same neighborhood again! A January day in SoCal when there's snow on the mountains...doesn't get better than that! It looks like you haven't lost your ability to get a good photo in your absence. Me...carried the Nikon to Canada and never picked it up...got really lazy...a backward slide educationally, but still having fun! Glad to have you back on the block...the neighborhood has missed you, as you can see!
@lyndemc Don't be so sure - I had the aperture set on 2.8 for this shot - not exactly optimum for landscape. I was fortunate in this case. I'm blaming it on the new camera. ;-)
Love the Palms and Snow
Happy NEW YEAR!!
And yes that is not something you see very often. A fav for your return
