I so wanted to photoshop a tophat and cane into this shot.
What I learned in taking this photo: It's good to be tall. Had I waited to get a spot in front the zoo would have been closed before I would have been able to move up.
It would be a hard-hearted person who wouldn't Fave a Panda! Within the moment I saw this, I knew where you'd been! Lucky you! (oh...Dec...well still...lucky you...not a rainy day!)
So pleased you didn't give in to temptation this is an excellent image of a beautiful animal Ron, one think I learned from your shot is it also pays to take a long lens when visiting the zoo, Fav :)
@joysfocus It's an unorganized rush hour. The normal panda exhibit is closed for renovation, so they moved them all up the hill a bit. The result is a little less organization and people tend to lollygag around more. I had to compete with the selfie crowd - annoying as heck! THanks for the fav!
@Weezilou Thanks Louise. Yep, hard to not go awwww when you see the panda. This was captured during my unintentional trip to the zoo. Glad I got rerouted now.
@onewing Actually it's a she, and I'm pretty sure she's smiling because she's been recently freed from her offspring. I learned that there comes a point when mama and baby want to have nothing to do with each other. Probably the baby equivalent of the teen years. ;-)
@pcoulson Thanks Peter, and you got that right! I broke down and got a 600mm lens and wow, some of the images you can get are impressive. Unfortunately it's a Nikon lens and while the autofocus work fine on the D750, it's all manual with the A7 RII. I'm sure you've run across this too.
@terryliv LOL! I only say that height comes in handy sometimes. I would kill to be a bit shorter when it comes to the 15 hour flights - even the one hour fights!!
@stray_shooter There was a really big dude on our 14 hour flight home from Vancouver and about 12 hours into it, I met up with him at the toilets. I made the above comment to him - he was a long way from being amused. I slunk back to my seat and kept a very low profile for the rest of the flight.
@stray_shooter Suspect you have already sorted it out when using manual focus lens Ron to set up focus peaking and zebra aids, I've set my peaking to red used to loss it when set on white, I only have one lens that is manual focus a Voigtlander f1.1 50mm prime used for portraits peeking works very well with this one:)
@terryliv I've felt the same way whenever some well rested lively midget spouts off to me 12 hours into a flight. I think every air rage incident stems from a short person.
@pcoulson I've played with the zebra setting some, but did not realize that red peaking might be helpful too. I'm still learning this camera - thanks sincerely for the tips!!
