From that same shoot three days ago, but a different vantage point and with the sun a little lower. I wanted to capture the reflection in the wet sand. You can still see the sea gull perched on the rock.
The sun set reflections on the wet sand are awesome. This is so beautiful. Tell me, do you ever have ho hum, no color sunsets in Southern California? 😊
@mikegifford Oh, holy cow, that is an awesome shot MIke! I've only been to Mono Lake a few times and never close enough to get such images....oh, and I've never had one of the "good" cameras with me either. Thanks for sharing!
@stray_shooter I know a good photo when I see it! This was deserving (and I loved seeing what Mike compared it to as well!) I'm enjoying "the other site" far more than I thought I would...just have to keep clear of haters! It;s been excellent for keeping us abreast of information in Ashley's area on Thomas Fire Info. And like an idiot I made the mistake of starting to look at cute animal videos... Suddenly it's 2 AM!
@stray_shooter the instant I saw your image I fav'd it! The colors and tones are remarkably similar to my Mono Lake capture. Now you'll have to plan a Mono Lake shoot! When there plan on taking Milky Way pictures as well. The night sky is dark and it's a great place to shoot! @Weezilou
