Passing by this lamp store I thought this would make for a fun opportunity to photograph. I got a few shots off and the shopkeeper came running out to declare that photography was not permitted. Now I don't know how enforceable that is, nor why you wouldn't want your work to be publicized. After all, if you came to Laguna Beach for a visit, wouldn't you want to visit this shop? Do partly out of spite, and partly because it's a nice colorful photo, I'm boldly defying her wishes and letting my 365 friends see a photo that you are not supposed to see. Let's just keep this between us, OK?
You little rascal or should I say rebel Ron, its a lovely capture full of colour and light, I would also be temped to sneak a quick shot, over here if its on private property they can ask you not to take photographs, in public places they can't stop you:)
The most amazing lamp shades I’ve ever seen, I love your bokeh too. Your secret is safe with me. How I would love to walk in the store and tell her “I belong to a worldwide photography site, I saw your lamps there and had to come see them in person.”
I wonder if they are worried about people copying their designs. Or maybe their stock "fell off the back of a truck" and they don't want them to be seen and identified. Ah, the stories we can come up with when anyone acts in a secretive way and our curiosity is peaked.

This being a town teaming with art galleries and shops, it's pretty common for the shop owners to ask you not to photograph their work. For paintings and photos and such I get it, but as some of you suggest, I would think this owner would welcome a little publicity when it comes to lampshades. Oh, well, damage done and mission accomplished. Thank you kindly!
