Dashing Through the Leaves

This is a Blue Dasher, a dragonfly that I guess is unique to the North America region. This particular species has larger wings than other dragonflies usually sport, or so my in-depth research (knows as Wikipedia) indicates. They don't sit still very often, so I was lucky to capture this one taking a time-out. Next goal: catch one in flight. Should be fun!
Fabulous blue! I was in my garden yesterday trying to capture dragons on flight! There were four flashing round the garden for ages but never settled. Such unpredictable flight pattern it was impossible to capture a flight shot. It’s better when they stop and hover as you have more chance of capturing it! Good luck in your quest!

@pamknowler Thanks Pam. They might be worse than butterflies to try and catch in flight. My quest continues later this week!

@koalagardens You don't see many blue animals, do you? Just like food (as George Carlin noted - why is there no blue food??).
