"We all have neighbors. Greet them on the sidewalk or in the elevator, but try not to peer through their windows. Windows are to look out from, not into.”
― Alexandra Stoddard
Wow I love this photo. Brilliant composition. Love the reflections on the windows, the patterns on the balconies. got to be a fav for me. Love your photos they are so creative.
Windows may be to look out of not into, but I bet you had a peep!!!
Great lines, perfect title and almost like that's where all the life is, the living on the inside, and the drab kinda cold concrete on the outside, not that it's an ugly building btw, that's not what I meant....sshhhh me
I love the colors and the perfect composition you have here. Favorite for me too. A joy to look at. And, yeah, hard to resist at least a glance at a lit window...
@onewing thank you so much for your kind feedback and the fav Babs, it's really encouraging and very much appreciated. I'm glad you like my photos :-) Oh yes, of course, each one, who can resist a glance into a lit window?!
@gigiz I like your analogy :-) To me the buildings of this estate represent there being a beauty in ugliness sometimes, the whole place is a fascinating mass of this solid concrete, towers and walkways, a microcosm of life all contained within the hundreds of apartments, a mass of windows and stories. It's a cool place for photography, not far from my office, it;s also a surprisingly expensive and exclusive city location, despite it's appearance.
This is such a cool capture- those lines and colours are perfect! I really like that quote and how the photo contradicts the words- pretty funny stuff lol! Nice one- FAV for me!
Great image and statement!Love the colorful windows ,each in different tones -just like our lives are.Very balanced detail!Wonderful idea and greatly executed!
Excellent! a fav! I love the poem/quote. And your image is amazing. How did you process for this effect? And what is that on the concrete? Drying from a rain? terrific!
@espyetta Hi Mary Beth, thanks for the Fav! Glad you like it. The processing is a mixture of adjustments using snapseed, I've recently downloaded the iPad app and am just experimenting! Before this project I'd not even used photoshop! So it's a learning curve right now, but this image is a mixture of grunge effect and centre focus tools along with contrast and saturation adjustment. The pattern on the balconies is a staining that I think has been there for years, we haven't had rain for a few weeks here, in the middle of a rare English heat wave!! Thank you so much for stopping by to look at my page and commenting, it's really appreciated.
