I'm thinking of trying a series of images on this theme, I like this concept of the lone figure in a landscape, urban or otherwise, that unknown shadow or figure passing by. This guy was actually an artist, the shot was taken on my way to work, he was mid drawing when I passed him, grabbing this quick snap on the way.
On another note, this wasn't my expected shot today, it was intended to be from the amazing gig I went to this evening, an iTunes festival event with one of my favourite bands, 30 Seconds to Mars, playing at the Roundhouse in Camden, London, superb venue, competition tickets won for free, brilliant band.... But.. No camera! I have had a camera with me almost constantly for the past 80 odd days... Tonight I'm in one of the most interesting parts of London at a great gig, and I forget it, left it at home doh! Oh well... Still had a brilliant evening !
An interesting theme that you have come up with, Ian. This capture has reminded me of how corporate architecture is pretty much about making us feel as small and insignificant as possible!
A splendid idea for themes. I find this one capture very intriguing.....in all this architecture, both old and new, you can't help but wonder at his thoughts. Great b&w capture, Ian!
Hahaha it usually happens.. a great moment and you find yourself without your camera! :/ Oh well, I'm glad you had a good day and great mono btw! :D I also like the lonely silhouette
Don't think you could have produced a better photo than this today Ian. I love the composition and processing and in my opinion would win an award in a Camera Club Mono section. Big Faaaaat FAV!!
Beautiful b&w. Adding a human element to a landscape always makes it more interesting to me. Will be watching for your series on this. Too bad you didn't have camera with you on what seems like a beautiful venue and event. Oh well, maybe that's a good thing. Would you have enjoyed and be present 100 % if you had the camera? :-)
Great atmospheric shot, Ian! Sorry about the forgotten camera, but it was fun to hear about the concert -- how cool is that?? I look forward to more lone figure photos!
Great shot, is that near London Bridge? The series is a great idea and concept and looking forward to your images. Whilst we always tend to carry a camera, in case, sometimes it is just nice to simply enjoy the moment
Excellent image Ian. Love the sound of the series...looking forward to seeing some more. No camera! *facepalm* I bet you tried to kick yourself! I like 30 Seconds...they put together some brilliant music vids :)
am drawn to silhouettes ... and this uses it to fantastic effect ... your processing as usual is spot on Ian ... interesting narrative .. this is a definite FAV!!
