My Get-Pushed partner, Val Petersen issued me a challenge to use my bike as a subject to explore DOF or to explore effects with longer shutter speed whilst moving the camera. I have 3 bikes and chose my retro bike as the subject for this shot aiming to include DOF. NZ like many countries is in isolation so taking bike photos which show DOF was a challenge on our fairly small section.
Welcome to 365, Sue! This is a great composition with the roses in the basket.
I checked out your camera settings in the Exif (under Photo Details) and you can probably get even more blurred background if you change your aperture from the f/6.3 that you used to a lower number (bigger aperture).
You will probably need to increase your shutter speed to do this to keep from over exposing your shot.
Not sure if you are able to move the bike further away from the wall as well.
Have fun!!
@farmreporter I really appreciate getting the feedback, Wendy and am loving being part of this website. F6.3 is the biggest aperture I can have when the lens I was using is on maximum zoom (200mm). I have a 600mm lens which I'll try taking the next picture with. New Zealand like many countries is on lockdown so I'm challenged by the size of our section. I'll take up the challenge and try another photo
