landscape

niagara night landscape. you can see the mist that the waterfalls make; the mist rises way above sometimes it causes a rainfall of its own on the observation decks. you can imagine what it is like during the winter. they didn't have the dancing lights on the falls today and i'm going to hazard a guess that they are reserving all resources for tomorrow, it being victoria day and canadians celebrate it with big fireworks. at past eleven, there are still a lot of cars and traffic is still bad. the lights on the horizon is new york.

thank you for your visits and comments. rest assured they are much appreciated.
Is this from your hotel room? Hope to go sometime this year.

@lesip - this is from the promenade outside of our hotel, beside the big casino. it's the same vantage point as the one with the flag, only that was zoomed in. thank you, leslie.

@bkbinthecity - have you been there, brian and melody? if you haven't, i hope you plan to see it soon. days like this in the spring is the best time to enjoy it, and when you come and visit, i shall take you on that boat ride to the foot of the falls.

@sarasdadandmom - no, not eerie, but calm. you can hear the falls but it being way down it's just like a lot of water rushing, which it is. during the cold season it is eerily quiet because the place is just 'dead'. i stayed there in december on my way back from my vacation. this time, at almost midnight, there are still quite an amount of traffic on the falls avenue and most clubs are open for the tourists so there is a bit of a night life. the 'eerie' came for some people the next morning when someone jumped over the fence and onto the water. it was a sight for some but we were oblivious to it and only saw the firetrucks when we were going down to take the boat. thank you, terry.

We went up to see the Falls at night once and they were lit up so nicely. I'm going to have to get busy and renew my passport so that if and when we ever meet I'll be able to go back and forth across the border!
