previsualizing is a form of imagining by summerfield

previsualizing is a form of imagining

that's according to freeman patterson in his book "photography and the art of seeing".

i was at the beaches this afternoon after lunch. walking back home, i thought of passing by the pond to say hello to my swan family so i went through the park instead of the sidewalk on the highway. i remembered that there is a portion of the park where there were lots of lavender plants. farther behind there was a hedge of tall grasses. i remembered that passage from the book when suddenly, out of nowhere, a bicyclist whizzed by and almost hit me just as i pressed the shutter to include an orange-ish bee that hovered among the lavender flowers. the photo on the left is the photo i wanted to take; the one on right is the 'happy accident'.

Both are lovely shots. I like the pop of yellow on the right picture, guess that was the bee!
