we drove for two hours northwest of calgary to lake louise in the town of banff. we took the gondola, the boys and their parents and little sister, to the top of sulphur mountain where you can get a 360 degree view of the surrounding mountain ranges. this is the view from the gondola coming back down. that's the lake louise in the bottom centre.
it's a different kind of beauty in here. the city is certainly very quiet, everything closes at 7 in the evening. the people are mostly friendly. the streets and the traffic are very orderly, a far cry from the chaos of toronto and surrounding areas.
That area has breathtaking beauty. Recently there's been quite a few photos from Banff on 365. Someone I know also visited that region earlier this year and her pics were amazing.
Wow! What an amazing picture! The scope of it is almost unbelievable! You are far braver than I to ride a gondola to the top and then back down again!! It sounds like a peaceful place and a good spot to raise children!
I want to go there.
