oh, i changing my mind! by summerfield

oh, i changing my mind!

it takes a lot of patience to be a child portraitist, i believe. take for example this young kid. her mom asked her "do you want her to take your picture?" "yes" she replied. she posed staring at my camera and just when i pressed the shutter, she moved, saying she changed her mind, she wanted her photo taken with her little princess toy.

oy!

missed opportunity. so this is all i got for this week's assignment for the 52-week challenge, which is child portrait. until i come across another family willing to have their child's photo taken.
I think this is the perfect portrait of a little one - I read a wise article on the subject of photographing children and it advised to capture them being themselves, not "posing". This is a fav for me.

I agree with Lin- perfect type of children's portrait. Great moment!

Kids can be such divas! Haha! But this is great actually! Better maybe than the posed one you wanted. Love that the tiny toy made it in the pic

I'll make it unanimous so far. The natural pose is much more interesting than a contrived photo of a child

Oh, so cute.

Such a sweet natural shot!

Oh, bother! She would be so good even with her princess! Now she has only half a brain!

Great shot! She's being a child, not a model as so many I see lately.

She's a cutie

It's this TBG?
August 28th, 2016
@bill_fe - no, not TBG.
August 28th, 2016
@summerfield OK, where is it?
August 28th, 2016
@bill_fe - somewhere not in toronto that's why the parents were not so paranoid about photo being posted online unlike here in toronto. plus i look trustworthy enough :-P

i believe this is a perfect shot. i do not enjoy the posed shot of children at all. one of them moving, being themselves, is much more appealing. this is perfect. look at the natural smile, the glow in her face. this is "her". fav.

I love it ---- and her smile and her staring at her little princess, super coloring.

"Posed" children make me think of the dreadful beauty pageants for children! This is sweet, charming, natural and childlike! Everything we really want children to be...including "happy"!

I agree it's perfect! You captured her so well.
