@ukandie andie joined us for the day. three 365er in one meet up, isn't that a treat! we spent the day at the chicago art institute and i tell you, i've never seen so many artworks in my life and what i saw today was just the tip of the iceberg. every time i exit a room into another it would be another artist's work, just when i thought i was at the end of the exhibit. they had a miniature section, and boy! did i lose myself in it, taking photos of almost all of the life-like minis. if not for those pesky groups of people i probably would've shot the whole room.
two funny things: one - i fished out my nikon dslr and the man at the counter frowned at me. so i said, just to be polite: i can use my camera, can't i? and he responded it was fine, just as long as i didn't use flash. and i responded, "flash is only for amateurs!" he laughed heartily saying "that's a good one!"
two - a young girl poked me in the arm while i was at the minis. turned out it was someone from the office. i got confused for a few seconds. then i told her: "i left you at the office, why are you here!"
we finished at almost five. then junko drove us around downtown for a bit including this here near the planetarium where we had a splendid panorama of the chicago skyline, before we raided @taffy 's place where domenico and family whipped out a splendid dinner of scallop (to die for!) and scarmoza (smoked cheese) topped with cherry tomatoes, and salmon (will try to get the recipe for you who are interested) with a side dish of sauteed bell pepper. we had fresh raspberry and blueberry for dessert the italian way -- with a dash of lemon juice and sprinkled with sugar. too bad, i forgot to take a photo of the salmon. what can i say, the scallop put us in extreme eating mode.
