one bucket list item i've been trying to avoid doing but my attempts at photography today were foiled by the cold weather. methinks we're in the high minus teens and there's a nasty wind that decided to stay around for the new year's eve celebrations. only fools would stay outside tonight and apparently there's a lot of them everywhere!
i can't even get this book heart shot right. this looks to me like an octopus whose tentacles have been severed. i tried using a ring but the shots came too crappy. and this looks better softened than sharp. dangit!
i probably should just do my baking. or perhaps just go straight to bed since it's almost eleven.
ahhh....a fortnight and i shall be in a really hot place then i can bitch about the heat!!
I like it, you are letting the negative voices win. Maybe you are trying too hard to recreate someone else's shot you loved when they already did it perfectly. Relax and have a great New Year.
I think you're too hard on yourself. This is sweet and we can't all produce a masterpiece every day (actually I would be happy just to produce an occasional masterpiece). Happy new year and congratulations on reaching 100%.
@slang - manila, palawan and even though I don't want to, apparently we're going to boracay. but anything for a photo op. wanna come and bring the whole gang? thanks for the greet, same to you!
Oh, I so want to go somewhere warm. I can't deal with these cold days - and we've literally had snow each day for the last month. Time to win the lottery and move to a tropical island! Enjoy your vacation and I hope 2014 is a wonderful year for you and family. ;)
Sorry to be so late with my challenge! Everyone sick here :-( But if you want, my challenge is a shot depicting new beginnings/rebirth (in honor of the new year!) And now that I actually feel up to getting about, I am off letter hunting! :-)
Well, I usually shy away from these types of shots because in my mind "everybody does them" to the point that they're overdone. But, when you throw it slightly out of focus and tilt the heart it's different enough to me that I like it. So, I wouldn't count this one out just yet.
@pandorasecho - for someone so young, you are so wise, my good friend. thank you, dixie.
@salza - thank you, sally. i know what you mean and i have 50 shots to prove it. 50 shots for a simple shot such as this!
@alia_801 - thank you, alia. it has the best colour tones among the bunch so i posted it.
@dh - thank you, d. moi aussi, i'd like to produce a masterpiece at least once every quarter. :-)
@taffy - thank you, taffy. don't leave it for too long. i did and when i was shooting this, i was thinking three years on 365 and i can't nail it down! ack!
@678tabby - thank you, june. the octopus has left the building. :-)
@june - thank you, june. i used a candle to the side which i cloned out because it was more a distraction.
@cscecil - thank you, my good friend CS. you're a sweetheart.
@bkbinthecity - whew! that's what i was thinking while crossing it off the list. thank you, brian and melody.
@kass - thank you, kass. that's what i will be investigating when i go retirement in an island.
@m9f9l - thank you, M. good luck with the letters (tip: the letter r is the hardest to find).
@olivetreeann - ann, thank you. you are probably right.
@luvmynynix - thank you, laurie. as i said, the octopus has left the building.
